The Daughters of Eden
Troupe Requirements
THE BASICS:
1. No Diva's please!

2. All members must be present students of the director (Zehara Nachash).

REHEARSAL IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR CLASSES!

3. Troupe members are expected to treat fellow members and the director with courtesy and
respect at all times.

4. M
embers must purchase a troupe costume at a cost of $65.00 as well as have a matching coin hip
scarf. Members must be able to purchase their own costume. Other costume pieces/props may also
need to be purchased depending on choreography. The director will try to find the most affordable
price for members.

5. Potential troupe members maybe asked to delay entrance to the troupe if the choreography is
too far along for a new member to catch up. The potential member will be informed as soon as a
new choreography is being created.

6. If the director receives any monetary compensation from any troupe performances, the money
will be put into a troupe fund. This money will be used for any potential costume needs of the
troupe.

7. All members must be able to quickly learn and execute choreography.

8. Troupe members must become members of the Northeast Belly Dance Assoc.
Boston Chapter

REHEARSAL RULES:
1. Rehearsals are held once a week at The Weaving Serpent Studio, in Roslindale, MA.

2. Members must attend rehearsal on time. If a member is going to absent or late, they must make
every effort to inform the director in advance so adjustments can be planned accordingly.

3. The purpose of the troupe is to provide students with performance opportunities in safe and
appropriate venues. While not all members are members are required to perform, the sole purpose
of rehearsal is to learn choreography and their associated techniques for performances.

4. Rehearsals are at no cost to the student, as long as the troupe size allows for enough rehearsal
space at the studio.

5. Excessive absence from rehearsal can lead to expulsion from the troupe.

6. All members must be present at dress rehearsal (generally held a day or two before a scheduled
performance).

7. If Zehara feels though a member is unable to effectively execute choreography, the member
maybe asked to sit out a performance until she is able to learn the choreography.

PERFORMANCE RULES:
1. Most performances will be at Belly Dance related events, although some general public
opportunities such as community festivals or fairs  may arise.  Troupe members will be notified at
least 3-4 weeks prior to performances.
**EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCY** situations, any member who
commits to a performance but does not show up the day of the performance will be asked to leave
the troupe.

2. Troupe members are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the show. In
most cases, the director will arrange for car pooling to and from where the event is being held.

3. Troupe members are required to be at a performance at least 1 hour to 45 minutes
BEFORE their
scheduled time. Most venues require performers to be at a venue early. This also allows ample time
for costume changes and a run through of choreography.

4. Members should have their make up done prior to coming to a performance.

5. When not performing, members must be covered appropriately (sweaters or cover up's). Some
venues make ask performers to leave if they are not suitably covered when not performing.

6. Troupe members are to remain professional AT ALL TIMES! No smoking, drinking or lewd and
offensive conduct is to occur while at a performance venue.

7. Director will notify troupe members of a scheduled performance as far in advance as possible.
Though rare, troupe members may be asked to perform on short notice. In such cases, previous
choreography will be used.

8. Members must perform in at least 2 performances in order to remain in the troupe.
